JOSHUA S. STAMBAUGH is a highly successful and experienced AMLAW 100 commercial litigator, and a first-chair trial attorney. He has an extensive record of obtaining proven results on both the plaintiff and defense side in trial practice, and in all facets of business litigation, class actions, products liability, interference and trade secret claims, unfair competition, breach of contract, fraud, antitrust, and intellectual property matters. Joshua has a natural affinity for the courtroom, and groomed his trial skills during the first decade of his career, including:
- First chair trial experience
- Both jury and bench trials in federal court
- Serving in the City Attorney’s Office as a part of the Trial Advocacy Program and individually prosecuting three criminal jury trials to verdict.
- Hand-picked to attend the International Association of Defense Counsel’s week-long intensive “Trial Academy” in which trial attorneys of great renown from all over the country provide one-on-one instruction to emerging “top gun” trial attorneys.
Joshua has litigated in the Superior Courts of over 10 counties in California, and in all U.S. District Courts in California. He has successfully engaged in all stages of litigation, from pleadings through settlement, trial, and appeal (including oral argument before the California Court of Appeal). Joshua has extensive experience in all types of business and commercial litigation, including class actions. Joshua has handled all areas of trial, motion practice and discovery, having conducted and defended scores of depositions (including key witnesses, corporate executives and expert witnesses).
Before joining the Firm, Joshua started his career at the Los Angeles office of a large, international firm. He spent 11 successful years in a large firm setting, where he served as a managing attorney over litigation teams of up to four associates and became the primary client contact in the majority of matters he handled.
Joshua is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Santa Monica Bar Association, and serves on the State Appellate Judicial Evaluation Committee for LACBA. He has been ranked as a “rising star” by Super Lawyers magazine every year since 2009, and has also received pro bono awards for his commitment to offering legal assistance to those in need.
Joshua graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law Magna Cum Laude in 2004 and was admitted that year to the State Bar of California.
Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Joshua has lived in Los Angeles since 2001.
