Land Use and Entitlements Dispute Involving Affordable Housing: After litigation that went all the way to the California Supreme Court, on behalf of the largest private developer of apartments in Los Angeles County, the Firm obtained and enforced a judgment against the City of Los Angeles setting aside the City’s inclusionary housing ordinance as being in violation of the Costa Hawkins Act, resulting in the elimination of fee of several million dollars that was illegally imposed on an apartment project in downtown Los Angeles.
